Mrs. Dorothy Hopkins, of Bolivar, Tennessee, passed from this life at Pine Meadows Healthcare and Rehab Facility in Bolivar, TN at the age of 88 years, 1 month and 9 days.
Born Monday, September 3, 1928 in Byhalia, MS she was the daughter of the late Emmett O. and Susie Frances Mills Bradford. She was married to Kenneth L. Hopkins on June 7, 1952 who passed March 15, 1999. They lived in Collierville until moving to Bolivar around 1959. She loved working with flowers and was a member of Hebron Baptist Church.
Survivors include 2 daughters, Martha W. Howell of Pocahontas and Barbara Vaughan of Toone; 2 sons Emmett Leon Hopkins of Tampa, Florida and Terry Clyde Hopkins of Bolivar; 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren; and one brother Lewis Bradford of Rossville. In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by 7 brothers, J. D., Wes, Johnnie, Abston, and Robert Bradford, and 2 in their early years; 2 sisters, Susie Mae Pettigrew and Mary Evelyn Lewis and a great-great-granddaughter J. Tiffany Howell.
