Dorothy Hinson

Henderson: Dorothy Mae Allison Hinson, age 85, died January 27, 2009, at Forrest Cove Manor in Jackson.



She was born and reared in England, AR the daughter of the late Joe LaFayette and Rosie Etter Thompson Allison. She graduated from England High School in 1941 and was married to Dennis Darrell Hinson. Mr. & Mrs. Hinson both worked for Brown Shoe Company in Conway, AR, Dexter, MO and then Lexington, TN. Mr. Hinson died in 1970. Mrs. Hinson moved to Henderson and was a dormitory supervisor at Freed-Hardeman University, three years at Hall-Roland Hall and then twenty two years at Bradfield Hall. She retired in 2001 and made her home in Henderson. She was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ.



She is survived by two daughters, Jane Cole and husband Ronnie of Dyersburg and Denise Hinson of Atlanta; a son, Joe Hinson of Germantown; six grandchildren, Dennis Hinson, Jennifer Hinson, Julia Hinson, Kelly Phillips, Allison Cole-Pugh and Brandon Cole (Alicia); three great grandchildren, Ashley, Jaden, and Lane Pugh; two brothers, Harold Allison (Joyce) of Sugarland, TX and David Allison (Mary) of Memphis.



She was preceded in death by her husband, Dennis Darrell Hinson in 1970 and a daughter–in–law, Valerie Hinson and three brothers, Ernest Allison, Estel Allison and Leon Allison.
