Mrs. Dorothy Maxine Fowler was called to her Lord on Saturday at Savannah Health Care and Rehabilitation Hospice. Dorothy was born in Oklahoma on March 11, 1924, to the late Dee Otis Redman and Ethel Leona (Bush) Redman.
Mrs. Fowler is survived by her daughter, Ada (Gary) Rather Swanson of Winchester, California and adoptive son, Cory (Tina) Fowler of Selmer, Tennessee.
Mrs. Fowler and her late husband, Arthur were foster parents to many children in Hardin County, Tennessee for over 25 years. Dorothy was an avid reader of the Bible and loved to attend church. She was an ordained Pentecostal preacher for over 30 years. Dorothy had strong interests in quilting, restoring old dolls and baking her special pies.
Mrs. Fowler was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia Lee (Fowler) Card; her son, Otties James Fowler; and her four sisters, Viola, Willene, Eva, and Ivie.
Mrs. Fowler had eleven grandchildren, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Fowler will be buried next to her beloved husband at Emmanuel Tabernacle Holinesss Church in Stantonville, Tennessee on Friday, July 1, 2016 at 3 p.m.
