Dorothy Evelyn Rasbury Edwards

Dorothy Evelyn Rasbury Edwards of Waynesboro, TN was born May 18, 1933 in Wayne County, TN, the daughter of the late William Hyder and Vena Mae Staggs Rasbury. She married James Thomas Edwards, August 22, 1950 and he preceded her in death, October 25, 2009.

Mrs. Edwards was retired from Genesco and was a member of Waynesboro Church of Christ in Waynesboro, Tennessee.

Mrs. Edwards departed this life, Sunday, October 6, 2019 at Waynesboro Health and Rehab in Waynesboro, Tennessee at the age of 86 Years, 4 Months, 18 Days.

She is survived by a son, Jerry Edwards of Cummings, GA; a daughter, Sarah Carroll and husband, Bobby of Waynesboro, TN; grandchildren, Thomas Edwards and wife, Jessica and Amy Carroll; great-grandchildren, Charlotte, Sadie and Lincoln Edwards; brothers, Earl Rasbury of Peoria, IL and Douglas Rasbury of Murfreesboro, TN; a sister, Esma Downey of Goodlettsville, TN and nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Edwards was preceded in death by a grandson, Barry Carroll; a brother, Harold Rasbury and a sister, Erma Cox.

Services will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 3:00 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors chapel, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Bobby Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in the North Highland Cemetery, Waynesboro, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County assisting the family. Visitation will be Monday, October 7, 2019 from 5 pm to 9 pm and Tuesday, October 8, 2019 from 8 am to service time at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be John Rasbury, Richard Rasbury, Mike Looper, Steve Presley, Frankie Taylor and Jon Taylor.
