DOROTHY SUE AUSTIN
Henderson, TN: Dorothy Sue Austin age 78 passed away Saturday June 1, 2013 at the Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville.
She was born and reared in Chester County, the daughter of the late James Robert and Ollie Mae Jordan Climer. She went to school in Chester County. She married Robert Edgar Austin in 1954 and they made their home in Chester County. She worked as a seamstress in several garment factories in the area and later became a supervisor. Mr. Austin died in 1998. Dorothy loved sewing and going to dances. She loved being a caregiver to many and helping people in many ways. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Henderson.
She is survived by two sons, Billy Austin and Mike Austin both of Henderson and a daughter, Bonnie Cox of Montezuma; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers, Albert Climer, Bobby Climer and a sister, Kay Climer.
Funeral Services will be at 3:00 PM on Tuesday at the First Baptist Church in Henderson with Stan Smith and Brad Patterson officiating. Burial will be in the Pisgah Cemetery. Visitation for Mrs. Austin will begin a 5:00 PM on Monday at the First Baptist Church.
