Doris Faye Wooley

Pinson: Doris Faye Skinner Wooley, age 78, passed away Thursday, October 12, 2023, at Jackson General Hospital.

Mrs. Wooley was born in the Deanburg Community of Chester County, the daughter of the late Charles Max and Cora Nell Malone Skinner.  She attended schools at Deanburg, Bolivar, and graduated from Chester County High School. She married William Charles Wooley, September 21, 1962, and they made their home at Pinson.  She worked at International Paper a few years and then went to McCollum and Ross Beauty School. She operated Looking Good Hair Salon from her home. 

She was a member of the Pinson FCE Club and a member of the Pinson Baptist Church.  She enjoyed quilting, coloring, and going to yard sales. 

She is survived by a sister Beatrice Vandiver of Pinson, a brother Larry Skinner of Deanurg, daughter-in-law Tina Wooley of Pinson and two granddaughters Madison Cummings and husband Chris and Megan Durham, and five great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Charles in September 2022 and  her son Darren Wooley in November 2022.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Burroughs officiating.  Burial will follow at Big Springs Cemetery near Pinson.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM Monday.
