Mrs. Doris L. Williams, age 81 of Toone, departed this life Wednesday, September 4, 2013 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Union County, Mississippi February 11, 1932 to the late Jessie M. and Sallie M. Chestene Hicks. She lived all of her adult life in Hardeman County and worked as a homemaker. She also worked for Kilgore for 7 or 8 years. Some of her favorite past times included going camping, spending time with family, particularly her grandchildren, and working in the garden. She was a member of Toone Baptist Church.
She leaves as her survivors two sons, James Barry Williams (Carol) and Michael B. Williams (Sheila), both of Toone; a daughter, Phyllis A. Willoughby (Elvin, Jr.) of Henderson; two sisters, Mary Blackard of Ingomar, Mississippi and Christine Phillips (Charles) of Whiteville; three brothers, Eugene Hicks (Claire) of Whiteville, Ernest Hicks (Carolyn) of Pine Dale, Mississippi and Eddie Hicks of Selmer; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James H. Williams.
