Doris Elizabeth McClain was born March 5, 1941 in Paris, KY the daughter of the late Millard Scott and Lillian Beatrice Robinson Norman. She attended the University of Kentucky for two years. She was united in marriage to G. C. McClain on November 23, 1967. Mr. McClain preceded her in death on May 26, 2008. She was a homemaker. Doris enjoyed oil painting, interior decorating, reading and quoting Mark Twain, Thomas Jefferson and Abraham Lincoln. She loved cooking and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters: Genny Borden of Selmer, TN, Joelle Goan of Collierville, TN, Jackie McClain of Selmer, TN, Jamie Harben of Guys, TN; a sister, Betty Alice Lamb of Las Vegas, NV; a brother, Virgil Clay Norman of Columbus, OH; and 5 Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. McClain was preceded in death by three sisters: Anna Francis Stevens, Mildred Louise Fisher and Margaret Adams Norman; three brothers: James Russell Norman, John Edward Norman and Donald Scott Norman.
