Dorcus Chelsea Cherry

Dorcus Chelsea Cherry “Love” was born Thursday, March 13, 1958 in Savannah, Tennessee. She confessed her belief in Christ at an early age at Graham Chapel, CME Church where she remained a member until she departed this life, Monday, March 16, 2025.

Dorcus was preceded in death by her devoted mother, Fannie Cherry and both grandparents Monroe E. and Dorothy Cherry.

Dorcus graduated from Savannah Central High School and went on to attend and graduate from Austin Peay University in Clarksville, TN with a degree in Business Administration. She worked for the US Department of Fish and Wildlife Atlanta, GA and retired in 2020 to her hometown of Savannah, TN. Dorcus loved to shop and had a passion for exploring new and familiar cuisine.

Dorcus leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory one loving aunt, Mary Frank Steele; close cousins, Monroe Cherry, Jr (Lois), Jacqueline Cherry, Barbara Thompson (Donnie), Linda Cherry, Teresa and Kristie Steele (Shane); a host of cousins, family and friends. She will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.
