Donna V. McBroom,, 74, of Counce, Tennessee began her journey to heaven on February 20, 2016. She made a peaceful transition while in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ripley, Tennessee on September 11, 1941 the daughter of the late Marvin Potter and Elsie Mary Lee Savage. She graduated from Ripley High School in 1959. On October 8, 1960, she was united in marriage to Bobby Ray McBroom and then moved to Bartlett, Tennessee to begin a family of their own and for the past 18 years had lived in Hardin County, Tennesse.
She and her husband were the successful owners of Mr. P.I.G. Pit Barbecue in Memphis for more than 34 years. She enjoyed crocheting, cross-stitching, scrapbooking, traveling, birds, boating, and cards. She also loved going to functions, being involved with friends, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. Donna was a member of the Pickwick United Methodist Church, Dam Grads at Pickwick Dam, Tennessee, Pickwick Bunko Club, the Thursday Bridge Club, and involved with the Community Center in Counce, Tennessee.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Bobby Ray McBroom of Counce, Tennessee; daughter, Theresa Gail Brown of Counce, Tennessee; grandchildren, Joshua Howard, Rachel Caulk, Bobbie Foster, Logan Brown, and Brandon McBroom; great-grandchildren, Stella Howard, Kobe Glover, Chaise Glover, Harlee Hill, Gaige Slate, Logan Brown, Jr., Kellan Caulk, Rinyan Brown, and Shane Hill.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her children, Michael Glenn McBroom, Terry Ray McBroom, and Kathy Jo Stephans; grandchildren, Brandie Michelle Austin and Justin Michael McBroom; sister, Marva Lee Hendrick; and brother, Karl P. Savage.
We are blessed to have had such a kind hearted, loving, and always smiling woman to call mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her graceful presence and family dedication has laid a foundation within our family that will continue for generations to come. May God bless us.
