Donna Gail Lewis Lanier, 68, of Middleton, passed from this life Tuesday, July 11, 2023, at Corinth, MS.
The wife of Ralph Lanier, who survives, she worked as a forensics secretary with Western Mental Health Institute for 30 years, prior to retiring. She was born Saturday, December 18, 1954, in Memphis, the daughter of Perry Wayne Lewis, who preceded her in death, and Frances Evelyn Treadway Gabbard of Walnut, MS. She graduated from high school in Somerville and married Ralph on January 17, 1974. They lived in this area 50 years. Mrs. Lanier enjoyed working in her flower garden, riding around, music, horses, writing and was known to be quite the artist, sketching out several drawings of horses and people. Her family states that she 'loved her farm and homeplace'.
In addition to her husband and mother, survivors include a daughter, Kelly McKenzie (Richard) of Middleton; a son, Randall Shane Lanier of Adamsville; two sisters, Cheryl Darlene Russell and Joyce Evelyn Turner, both of Walnut, MS; and a grandson, Kayden Mack Darling. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a sister, Terry Lynn Forshea. Memorial contributions in her name may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (www.stjude.org/donate).
