Donald Stahl of Selmer, TN was born October 29, 1949 in Baltimore, MD the son of Jean Foust Smith and the late Donald Eugene Stahl. He departed this life on May 11, 2019 at his home in Selmer at the age of 69 Years, 6 Months, 12 Days.
Mr. Stahl enlisted in the United States Marine Corps on November 2, 1966 and was honorably discharged on November 1, 1972. He was wounded in Vietnam on November 24, 1967 and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. He was also awarded a Vietnam Service Medal with 3 bronze stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal with 60 device, the National Defense Service Medal, a Presidential Unit Citation Ribbon and Meritorious Unit Commendation Ribbon.
He is survived by his wife Jeannie Ann Stahl, whom he married on February 5, 2005; two daughters, Elisha Jean Stahl Hernandez and husband Paul, Kerri Hughes and husband Keith; his mother, Jean Smith; three sisters, Linda Locklear, Patricia Stahl, Cindy Lee Fugate; a brother, Leland Bart Townsend; grandchildren, Elizabeth Johnson, Julie and Ben Cossey, Heather and James Davenport, Brooke Johnson, Hannah Hughes, Tyler Hughes, and two other grandchildren who live in Amarillo, TX. Other survivors are a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his father, Mr. Stahl was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicki Johnson and a brother, Richard Stahl.
There will be a private family memorial service at a later date.
