Donald Gene Jackson, 58, formerly of Hardeman County and Memphis, died Thursday, September 29 at the Regional Hospital of Jackson.
The husband of Lorraine Dellinger Jackson, who survives, he was a shift supervisor at Memphis Light, Gas and Water Division for 25 years. Mr. Jackson was born November 12, 1946 in Hardeman County, son of Oease Jackson of Bolivar and the late Buford D. Jackson. He graduated from Grand Junction High School and lived in Memphis for 30 years before retiring to Jackson 12 years ago. Mr. Jackson was a member of Hebron Baptist Church and loved to fish.
Services were 2 PM Sunday, October 2, 2005 at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar chapel with David Cooper officiating. Burial was in Hebron Cemetery near Middleton.
In addition to his wife, whom he married in 1999, and his mother, survivors include daughter, Sherri Yarbro of Brighton; sons, Tim Jackson of Memphis and Dwayne Jackson of NC; step-sons, Jonathan Dellinger Brock of Nashville and C.M. Brock of Jackson; sister, Phyllis Adair, of Bolivar and 5 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Harold Jackson.
