Donald Wade (Griff) Griffis, Sr.
was born in Marshall County, Tennessee the son of the late Edward Lewis and Era Nadine Davis Griffis.
On March 12, 1981, he was united in marriage to the former Patricia Gleason, who survives.
Mr. Griffis worked as a truck driver and trained horses. He was a member of the House of Mercy Church, the Walking Horse Owners Association and the Tennessee Walking Horse Breeders and Exhibitors Association.
He departed this life on December 13, 2005 at Hardin Medical Center in Savannah at the age of 53 years, 8 months and 10 days.
Mr. Griffis is survived by his wife, Patricia Gleason Griffis of Morris Chapel, TN;
4 sons: John William of Chesterfield, TN, Joseph William of Selmer, TN, Ed Patrick of Crump, TN and Donald Wade, Jr. of Bellfast, TN;
3 daughters: Jennifer Lee of Henderson, TN, Jenean Lynn of Lexington, TN and Alice Ann of Lewisburg, TN;
20 grandchildren and one brother, James Griffis of Tyler, Texas.
