A caring and loving husband and father and dedicated member of his local church and communtiy, Mr. Gale passed away Tuesday, April 28 in Winter Haven, Florida.
A natiive of Salisbury, Vermont, he was the son of the late Howard and Grace Johnson Gale. He graduated from Middlebury (VT) College and on September 29, 1945, he married the former Martha Elizabeth Sammons, who survives. Mr. Gale was a veteran of the US Navy, having served in WWII at the Naval Research Laboratory in Washington. He was a nuclear physicist with the US Nuclear Regulatory Commission, retiring after 30 years of service.
He lived in Whiteville, Tennessee from 1976 - 2000, where he was deacon and choir member of the Whiteville First Baptitst Church. He have lived in Winter Haven, Florida the past 9 years.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Gale is survived by three sons, Dr. Don Gale, Jr. of Orlando, Florida; Dr. John Gale of Golden, Colorado and Dr.Timothy Gale of Flowery Branch, Georgia; nine grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
