DONALD BISHOP CANNON
was born in Poinsett County, Arkansas on January 31, 1942 the son of the late Ora Jean Brewer Cannon and Carter Gibson Cannon.
On July 7, 1962 he was united in marriage to Laura Frances Franks, who preceded her husband in death on November 24, 1995.
Donald started working for the Savannah Police Department in 1967, where he was later the Savannah Chief of Police, retiring in 2000. While working for the Police Department he helped alot of people and made alot of friends. Donald's favorite past times were hunting, fishing, hanging out at Delaney's Towing and having coffee at Jacks with his buddies. He was an avid hunter, loved working on vehicles and helping others.
Donald departed this life on Monday, December 23, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 23 days.
He is survived by his two daughters, Robin Cannon Adams of Savannah, Tennessee and Judy Cannon Wetherbee and her husband Harold of Nashville, Tennessee; one granddaughter, Laura Kathryn Anderson, whom was the apple of his eye; sister in law, Marjorie Coleman; and brother in law, Jimmy Franks.
In addition to his parents and his wife, Donald was preceded in death by one brother, James (Jimmy) Cannon.
