Don Ray (Donnie) Wilson was born July 10, 1947 in Memphis, TN, the son of the late Robert L. and Margaret O'Conner Wilson. Mr. Wilson departed this life on Sunday, May 26, 2024, in Michie, Tennessee at the age of 76 Years, 10 Months, 16 Days.
Don proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps. He met Rhonda Hamilton on a blind date at church. They were united in marriage on February 28, 1970. Don was a factory worker until he broke his back. After this injury, he began working odd jobs at various grocery stores in the area. He loved to fish, watch TV, play video games, go square dancing, and go camping in Heber Springs, Arkansas, but most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially during the holidays. In 1992, Don was saved at Olive Hill Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Rhonda Wilson of Michie, TN; two sons, William (Bo) Wilson and wife Jennifer of Ramer, TN, David (Pokey) Wilson and wife Angie of Michie, TN; four grandchildren: Tyler Wilson and wife Ashley of Michie, TN, Destiny Knight and husband Ben of Siloam Springs, AR, Alana Wall and husband Seth of Ramer, TN, and Nick Wilson of Michie, TN; four great-grandchildren: Brentlee, Matti and Edge Knight, and Lily Mae Wilson; three sisters: Diane O'Brien, Francis Printup, and Marie Simpson and husband Gerald; a brother, Billy Joe Wilson and wife Brenda; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by a sister, Naomi Cheney.
