Don Jamerson was born June 15, 1939 in Leapwood, TN the son of the late Jessie Garner and Eulah Marie Hardin Jamerson.
He was united in marriage to Elaine Hewitt on August 8, 1959.
Don graduated from Adamsville High School in 1957. He attended Barber College in Memphis, then returned to Selmer and went to work for Hoyt's Barber Shop. Several years later Don opened his own shop, Don's Hair Care, which he operated until his death. Don loved his work as a Barber; he also enjoyed working in his garden, spending time with his family, and the occasional friendly card game. Don was a member of the Court Avenue Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Selmer.
Don departed this life on August 16, 2016 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 77 Years, 2 Months, 1 Day. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elaine (Hewitt) Jamerson of Selmer, TN; a daughter, Kim Hopkins and husband Rob of Selmer, TN; a son, Jay Jamerson and wife Kim of Little Rock, AR; four grandchildren: Tucker Jamerson, Lacey Jamerson, Jared Hopkins and fiancee Jordan Mooney, and Ryan Hopkins and wife Ashley; two sisters, Maxine Wright and husband Jimmy and Betty McLaughlin and husband Bill, all of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Jimmie Jamerson and wife Jane of Hornersville, MO and Harry Jamerson of Memphis, TN; and many extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a sister, Frances Price.
