Dillard Franklin Adams
was born in Hardin County, Tennessee on August 7, 1934 the son of the late
James Carter and Fannie Mae Barnett Adams.
On September 1, 1952 he was united in marriage to the Ruby Nell Gray, who survives.
Mr. Adams was a bus driver for the Hardin County Board of Education for 20 years. He was a retired member of the Heavy Equipment Operating Engineers Local 369 Memphis, Tennessee. He owned and operated Adams Bait Shop for 14 years and was a commercial fisherman. Mr. Adams was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church and preached at Mt Tabor Church and Pyburn Union Church. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge Savannah, A Shriner, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star, and a member of the Woodmen of the World.
Mr. Adams departed this life on Wednesday, February 13, 2008 at the age of 73 years, 6 months, 6 days.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by 2 daughters: Deborah Kay Adams Ball of Savannah, Tennessee, Christy Denise Adams Landrum of Columbia, Tennessee; 2 sisters: Mae Adams Howard of Savannah, Tennessee, Alice Faye Adams of Nashville, Tennessee; 1 brother: James Carter Adams of Savannah, Tennessee; 4 grandchildren: Jeremy Adam Wadkins, Christen Lea Swan, Colton Nathaniel Landrum, Coy Dean Landrum.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son: Johnny Ray Adams; 3 sisters: Polly Adams Petty, Mary Katherine Parrish, Dannie Joyce Blasingame; 1 brother: John M. Adams.
