Billie Diane Hime was born in Wayne County, Tennessee on February 8, 1947, the daughter of Jess and Ocie Sally Middleton Hime. Diane, as she was known to everyone, spent her early years in the county of her birth, attending high school there and eventually meeting and then marrying John Thomas Cummings. They moved to Hardin County where Diane began working in the first of many factories before retiring from Kay Windsor Manufacturing.
A member of Southside Baptist Church, Diane loved life better than anyone you could imagine and especially loved being with her family and friends. In later years, she and her husband began selling produce, a past time she really enjoyed, but only because it gave her the opportunity to talk to everyone who stopped by.
Diane Hime Cummings left her earthly home on Thursday, August 8, 2019 at the age of 72 years and 6 months. In addition to her husband, John Thomas Cummings of Savannah, Tennessee, she leaves her two sons, Scotty Cummings and Tony Cummings, both of Savannah, Tennessee, her grandchildren, Cassie McClain and her husband Dave, Tera Casteel, and Tyler Cummings and his wife Callianne, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and her great-grandchildren, Tatum Casteel, Talyn Casteel, Greyson Haggard, and Mary Evelyn McClain. Diane also leaves her four nieces, Brenda Copeland and her husband Phil, Glenda Short, and Judith Young and her husband Bruce, all of Savannah, Tennessee, and Dinita Smith and her husband Tommy of Franklin, Tennessee, as well as her nephew, Tommy Mitchell and his wife Pam of Smyrna, Tennessee, and her cat, Meow Kitty.
Other than her parents, Diane was preceded in death by her sister Peggy Mitchell and her brother Webster Steel "W.S." Hime.
