Dennis D. Watkins, 67, of Saulsbury, died Wednesday morning, April 27 at Methodist Hospital Central in Memphis.
The husband of Mary Hardy Watkins, who survives, he was a retail grocery manager. Mr. Watkins was born September 5, 1937 in Bolivar, son of the late Barney Wilford Watkins and Nicie Maude Shearon Watkins and lived in Memphis for over thirty years before returning here to make his home. He was a member of Center Point Baptist Church in Hickory Valley.
Services were 2 pm Friday, April 29, at Shackelford Funeral Director's Bolivar Chapel with Ricky Watkins officiating. Burial was at Saulsbury Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, whom he married August 21, 1984, survivors include three sons, Mike Watkins of Oakland, Mark Watkins of Horn Lake, Miss. And Chris Watkins of Toone; one sister, Eunice Hill of Memphis; five brothers, Malcolm Watkins of Hickory Valley, Wesley Watkins of Memphis, Glen Watkins of Saulsbury, Kenneth Earl Watkins of Hickory Valley and John Lewis Watkins of Memphis; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by one son, Jackie Lynn Watkins and daughter, Angela Denise Watkins.
