Dennie Black, born on June 2, 1937, in McNairy County, TN, peacefully departed this life on January 30, 2025. He was the beloved son of the late Euless and Cora Athalee Lipford Black.
In 1964, Dennie married Dorothy Hutcherson, sharing a loving partnership that lasted 40 years until her passing in 2005. Their journey began in Memphis, where he successfully ran his own painting business. In 1972, the couple moved to Adamsville, where Dennie contributed to the community by working with the Sheriff’s Department, serving as chief of police of Adamsville and farming.
In 1982, they relocated to Louisville, KY, where he continued his passion for painting alongside his wife. They later moved their business to Nashville in 1989 before retiring, ultimately returning to Adamsville, where he spent his final years.
He enjoyed playing the guitar, singing, and cherishing the moments spent with his family.
He is remembered fondly by his three daughters: Renee Wilson and husband Jeff from Nashville, TN; Debbie Greer from Adamsville, TN; and Paula Rhoten and husband Keith from Nashville, TN. He also leaves behind five grandsons, two granddaughters, three great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
In addition to his beloved wife and parents, Mr. Black was preceded in death by three brothers and seven sisters. His legacy of love and dedication to family will continue to inspire all who knew him.
