Denise Whitley

Denise ("Denny") Whitley was born May 22, 1964 in Davenport, Iowa the daughter of Sheila Love Atkins and the late Clifford Atkins Jr. She was united in marriage to Lee Whitley on May 23, 1992.Mrs. Whitley was the town manager for the City of Bethel Springs, member of the Presbyterian Church of Bethel Springs, former president of PTA at Bethel Springs Elementary, and committee member of Dixon Presbyterian Scholarship. Mrs. Whitley departed this life on August 28, 2007 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 43 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days.She is survived by her husband, Lee Whitley of Selmer, Tennessee; two sons, Robert Grant Whitley and William Dalton Whitley both of Selmer, Tennessee; mother, Sheila Atkins of Davenport, Iowa, and mother-in-law, Nancy Ann Whitley of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; sister, Billie Jo Atkins of Davenport, Iowa; brother, Timothy Atkins and wife Jacqueline of Davenport, Iowa; sister-in-law, Melody Ann Surratt and husband Tommy Joe of Adamsville, Tennessee; brother-in-law, William Ross Whitley Jr. and wife Joyce of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; niece, Ashley Renee Atkins of Davenport, Iowa; three nephews, Donovan Xavier Dennis, Timothy Brandon Atkins, and Nicholas Alan Atkins all of Davenport, Iowa; and a host of special friends.In addition to her father, Mrs. Whitley was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, George and Edna Love and paternal grandparents, Clifford and Lorena Atkins.
