Graveside services for Mrs. Delphia Lee Lomax Pope, age 91 of Linden will be held on Friday, August 1, 2008, 10: 00 am at Highland Cemetery Highway 13 North near Waynesboro, with Mitchell Skelton officiating. Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County is in charge of the arrangements.



Mrs. Pope departed this life on Tuesday, July 29, 2008 at Perry Memorial Hospital in Linden, Tennessee. She was born February 8, 1917 in Perry County, Tennessee the daughter of the late John Thomas and Martha Elizabeth Tune Lomax.



Mrs. Delphia was a homemaker and member of the Flatwoods United Methodist Church. She was united in marriage to Clovis W Pope on November 28, 1935. Mr. Pope preceded her in death on March 16, 1991. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Fred Lomax.



She is survived by daughter; Barbara Ann Ponte and her husband Philip J. of Orange Park, FL ; sons; Thomas (Woody) Pope and his wife Joanne of Orange Park, FL and Donald L. Pope of Flatwoods, TN

grandchildren; Wendy Rajput, Thomas M. Pope, Valerie Prince, and Philip W.Ponte; great-grandchildren; Matthew Swain. Robert Swain. Michael Swain, Noah Prince, and Philip Charles Prince;



brother; Dwight Lomax of Florence, AL; sisters, Verdie Skelton of Flatwoods, TN, Ruby Flurry of Waynesboro, TN, Mattie Morris of Linden, TN, and Johnnie Lomax of Warner Robbins, GA.
