Debra L. Petersen, 66, of Whiteville, peacefully departed this life on Wednesday evening, April 2, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family.
She was born August 31, 1958, in Middleton to the late John Thomas and Norma Odell Kirk Lowrance. She was also preceded in death by her brother, John Wesley Lowrance.
She was united in marriage to Timothy Dale Petersen on August 21, 1976. A life-long resident of Hardeman County, Debra was a graduate of Middleton High School and continued her schooling to become a LPN. She worked several years for West Tennessee Healthcare, The East Clinic, home health and, for a short time at Western Mental Health Institute in Bolivar. A long-time member of Vildo United Pentecostal Church, she used her love and talent for cooking to, many times, feed the entire congregation thereby serving the church and God she loved. She enjoyed birds and especially her family l, including her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband of almost 49 years, she leaves her daughter, Tiffany (Jody) Wilbanks of Faulkner, MS; her son, Timothy Nathiel Petersen of Whiteville; her sister, Brenda Lee Lowrance of Middleton; and three grandchildren, Chloe, Madison and Taylor Wilbanks.
Memorials may be sent to the charity of the donor's choice.
