D.C. Lowrance

D. C. Lowrance, 77, of Bolivar, passed from this life Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at Bolivar General Hospital.

A native of McNairy County, he had lived here since 1960. His parents were the late Iza Marion and Hattie Oleta Moore Lowrance. He married Shirley Jean Lowrance on New Year's Eve, 1969. She died February 7, 2005.

Mr. Lowrance retired from WMHI in Bolivar in 2006 following 32 years of service where he worked in food service. A member of Bolivar Church of God, he helped build the church's parsonage. In his leisure time, he enjoyed reading, history, watching Jimmy Swaggart on television and sitting on his porch in the summer. An avid sports fan, he especially liked the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys and UT Vols.

He leaves two daughters, Carolyn Smith (Rickey) of Bolivar and Tonie Childers of Selmer; two sons, Wallace Lowrance (Tina) of Arizona and Terry Childers (Debbra) of Toone; five grandchildren, Terry Lowrance, Jennifer Boyd, Madison White, Autumn Childers and Victoria Noe; and several great-grandchildren.
