David Lynn Vaughn

David Lynn Vaughn was born November 29, 1946 in Selmer, TN, the son of the late Lloyd Vaughn and Martha Lou Russell Vaughn.

David was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Pocahontas, Tennessee. He loved his church very much. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, reading, and working in his flowers.

David had a deep appreciation for animals and cherished the time spent with family during gatherings that filled their hearts with laughter and love. He was known for his remarkable storytelling ability, always bringing a smile to those around him with his wonderful sense of humor.

Throughout his life, he exemplified hard work and dedication, contributing as a hardworking man in construction, farming, and at a sawmill. David’s legacy will live on in the memories we hold dear and the lessons he imparted through his kindness and laughter. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those he touched.

David departed this life on April 3, 2025 at his home in Pocahontas, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 4 Months, 5 Days.

He is survived by three sisters: Gloria Moore and husband Kenneth of Selmer, TN, Deborah Kirk and husband Terry of Lawton, TN, and Judy Hopper and husband James of Pocahontas, TN; a brother, Reece Vaughn and wife Dorothy of Chewalla, TN; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his siblings, Peggy Dixon, James Vaughn, Arnie Vaughn, Mac Vaughn, Ann Vaughn; nieces and nephews: Penny Knight, Shelly Huggins, Kimberly Dixon, Jimmy Vaughn, Brian Vaughn; and a great nephew, Nathan King.
