DAVID THOMAS
Henderson, TN: David Joseph Thomas age 40 passed away Tuesday morning August 16, 2016 at his home.
He was born November 21, 1975 in Jackson and reared in Henderson, the son of Danny and Karen Bell Thomas. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1994. He began working at Proctor & Gamble in 1995, which became Kellogg’s, where he was a technical team leader. He married Laura Bennett in 1999 and they made their home in Henderson.
David came to know the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his personal savior in February of this year. He cared deeply about his close friends. He was a member of the Faith Baptist Church.
His favorite hobby was drag racing with his dad. He was an avid UFC fan and loved watching sports particular U.T. Football. He loved spending time with his family, traveling and riding his motorcycle. He was a big animal lover.
David is survived by his wife, Laura Michelle Bennett Thomas of Henderson; a daughter, Audrey Grace Thomas of Henderson; his parents, Danny and Karen Bell Thomas of Henderson; a sister, Amy Nicole Thomas Bell and husband Brian of Henderson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Chris and Mary Bennett of Jackson, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law; Brian and Carolyn Stephenson and William and Leah Bennett and special friends, Scott and Leilani Mills.
He is the grandson of Geneva Bell and the late Joe Bell and the late Warren and Lucressia Thomas.
He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Daniel Thomas, July 27, 2015.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Saturday August 20, 2016 at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Casey Chapel with Mark Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Cave Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Casey Chapel 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday.
Memorials may be made at the Clayton Bank of Henderson, Clayton Branch of South Jackson, and Clayton Branch of North Jackson in Christopher Thomas’s name to be presented at a donation ceremony at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital to support families and nurses who had a similar situation to the Thomas family when Christopher died.
