David Wayne Tacker of Selmer, TN departed this life on October 23, 2016 in Selmer at the age of 80 Years, 8 Months, 28 Days. He was born January 25, 1936 in McNairy County the son of the late William Troy Tacker and Vadie Elizabeth Brooks Tacker. He was united in marriage to Kaye Kiser on November 15, 1962. He was a U. S. Army Veteran.
David was the owner of Tacker Welding. He attended Good Hope Baptist Church. He was a Mason at Purdy Lodge #132 in Bethel Springs, a member of the Shiloh Area Street Rods Club and the Purdy Community Center. Although David loved his family and friends very much, his pride and joy was his little red car, a 1936 Ford. David enjoyed showing his car off at car shows, parades, and other events.
Even though David and Kaye never had any grandchildren of their own, there are two very important people which filled that spot, Amelia and Evan Lamberth. One of their favorite memories is going with David and Kaye Kaye anywhere, and riding in the rumble seat of the little red car.
He is survived by his wife Kaye (Kiser) Tacker of Selmer; two sons, Monty Lee Tacker and Joe David Tacker, both of Selmer; a sister, Marie Tacker Henry and husband Robert of Bethel Springs, TN. In addition to their two biological sons, David and Kaye have two very special young men, Michael Moore and Jamie Wilson, whom spent the majority of their younger days at the Tacker home.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tacker was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Tacker Plunk and husband Henry; a brother, Wallace Tacker.
