David K. Howell, age 53 of Decatur, AL, passed from this life Saturday, November 22, 2008 in Huntsville, AL.He was born September 6, 1955 in Jackson, TN to the late Little Ben Howell and Janet Howell Johnson. He graduated with the Class of 1973 at Bolivar Central High School and married his wife, Debra Carol Howell, who survives, June 9, 1978. He worked as an officer for the Hardeman County Sheriff's Department, and was also the EMT Director of the Hardeman County Ambulance Service and a volunteer Sherriff's Criminal Investigator. He founded the Hardeman County Rescue Squad and raised funds for the first "JawsofLife" in the county. He was a member of Hatchie Baptist and moved to Decatur, AL in 2007.In addition to his wife, Debbie, he is survived by two sons, Luke Howell and wife Kim and Dustin Howell, all of Decatur, AL; a sister, Cathie Harris and husband Eddie of Milan; a grandson, Lucas Howell, and "one on the way"; a nephew, Chris King of Milan, a great-niece Bailee King; and a faithful dog, "Abby."In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bill and Callie Tigner of Hornsby, and his paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Howell of Selmer.
