David Charles Hammerschmidt

David Charles Hammerschmidtwas born in East St. Louis, Illinois on May 28, 1943 the son of the late David Charles and Opal West Hammerschmidt.Mr. Hammerschmidt had worked as a Railroad Inspector for Illinois Central before retiring. In addition to St. Louis, he had lived in Olive Hill, Tennessee, Edenton, North Carolina, and O-Fallon, Illinois. He was a car collector and a member of the First Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Mr. Hammerschmidt departed this life on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 at the age of 65 years, 1 month, 24 days.Mr. Hammerschmidt is survived by his wife: Dorothy Alice Smith Hammerschmidt; two daughters: Cynthia Robinson and Lisa DuRocher both of Las Vegas, Nevada; two stepsons: Mathew Hammerschmidt of California and Donald Locandro of Granite City, Illinois; a stepdaughter: Ann Woodward of Virginia Beach, Virginia; a brother: Dennis Hammerschmidt of Fairview Heights, Illinois; one grandchild; three step-grandchildren; one step-great-grandchild.
