David Morris Hale

David Morris Hale (Retired SMSGT U. S. Air Force) departed this life on May 29, 2015 at his home in Columbus, MS at the age of 81 Years, 4 Months, 29 Days. He was born December 30, 1933 in Corinth, MS the son of the late Stafford and Mary Potts Hale.

He was united in marriage to Vivian E. Smith on July 3, 1954. Mrs. Hale preceded him in death on November 21, 1993.

Mr. Hale had a very successful softball pitching career while in the military and was known as "Pappy Hale". He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by a daughter, Kimberly Hale Langford and husband David A. Langford, Jr. of Artesia, MS; a granddaughter, Aubrey Annette Langford of Artesia; a sister, Betty Hale Laughlin of Corinth, MS; a brother, Raymond Hale of Stockton, CA; a sister-in-law, Grace Smith Gullett of Jeffersonville, IN; several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, extended family and friends.

In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hale was preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Hale and a sister, Ruth Hale.
