Henderson, TN: David Brice Cooper, age 72, a retired material handler for Sears Logistics Services, died Sunday morning, March 12, 2006 at Millington Health Care Center.
Mr. Cooper was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late J. B. and Bessie Hunter Cooper. He graduated from Chester County High School in 1952. He entered the U. S. Navy in 1953 and served in active duty until 1957 and then served in the Navy Reserves until 1961. He worked in logistic services at Sears and Roebuck in Memphis all his working career. He was married in 1966 and had four children and later was married to Bonnie McGroom in 1982 and she preceded in death in 1998. He continued to make his home in the Memphis area and was very active in a bowling league in Memphis.
He is survived by three daughters; Julie Kelly and husband Joe and Connie Hughes and husband Chris all of Collierville and Angela Gaters and husband John of Henderson. He also has four step children; Charlotte Little of Atoka, TN, Lynn McGroom of Brighton, and Leslie Wayne McGroom and Charlene Graham both of Millington. He has four sisters; Dorothy Skelly of Garland, TX, JoAnn McKinnon and Sandra Davis both of Henderson, and Evelyn Miles of Corinth, MS. He was preceded in death by a brother Bob Cooper. Mr. Cooper has 13 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday from the Chapel of Casey Funeral Home with Bro. Stan Smith Officiating and burial will follow in the Hunter Cemetery. The family will received friends at Casey Funeral Home beginning at 5:00 PM Monday.
