David Clayton

David Clayton was born February 18, 1960 in Memphis, TN the son of John David, Sr. and Frances Clayton.

David was a 1978 graduate of McNairy Central High School, where he played football until injuring his knee. He lived in Bartlett, TN from 2001 until 2014, working for a courier service and later operating his own marine mechanic business on Mud Island. David moved to Counce, TN in 2014, following his desire to be near the water. When David was younger, he enjoyed racing motorcycles. In later years he enjoyed working on old cars, following the New Orleans Saints and Tennessee Vols, and watching the Earnhardt family race in NASCAR. David was a member of New Hope Christian Church in Bartlett.

David departed this life on December 19, 2018 in Corinth, Mississippi at the age of 58 Years, 10 Months, 1 Day. He is survived by his parents, John and Frances Clayton of Bethel Springs, TN; a son, John David (Trey) Clayton III of Counce, TN; a brother, Barry Lynn Clayton and companion Hollie of Bethel Springs, TN; a nephew, Albert Lynn Clayton and companion April Warren of Selmer, TN; and many extended family and friends.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Vickie Carol Clayton, on July 31, 2015.
