Finger, TN: Danny Joe Matthews, Sr., age 57, died November 26, 2008 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
He was born and reared in Chester County, the son of the late William Henry Washington Lee and Lela Levada Moore Matthews. He attended schools in Chester County and two years at McKellar Field Vocational Tech. School in Jackson in tool and die. He went to work for Grinnell Corp. at age 17 and worked for 36 years and retired in 2002 due to poor health. He loved to hunt especially squirrel hunting. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Faye Smith Matthews of Finger; two sons, Jackie Matthews and Little Joe Matthews both of Henderson; two daughters, Misty Paul and Melony Whittington both of Henderson; five grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Matthews of IL, Jerry Matthews of GA and Jimmy Matthews of Henderson; three sisters, Kathleen Kilzer and Carolyn Rouse both of Henderson and Barbara Grimes of Lexington.
