Dan Edward Stewart

Dan Edward Stewart, age 79 of Germantown, passed from this life Wednesday night, January 14, 2009 at Methodist Central in Memphis.He was born November 9, 1929 in Hardeman County to the late Carl and Claire Maude Lambert Stewart. He married Ruby Nell Jackson April 14, 1950 and worked for Memphis Area Transit Authority for 38 years, retiring as the head driver in 1989. He also drove for Massey Cadillac, loved yard work and the outdoors, especially fishing and quail hunting, and was a very jovial "people" person, always helping those in need. He was a member of the Porters Creek Baptist Church in Middleton.In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Brenda Silcox of Memphis; a son, Brent Stewart of Collierville; two sisters, Magdalene Gaines of West Memphis, Arkansas and Shelby Stovall of Woodbury; and three grandchildren, Clay Stewart, Reid Stewart and Angie Brown.
