Dan Moore
Finger: Daniel Hughes Moore, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 25 at his home in Finger.
Mr. Moore was born and reared at Collierville, April 26, 1934 the son of the late Daniel Alexander and Mary Katherine Pounders Moore. He graduated high school in Collierville and entered the U.S. Army and served in Korea and Okinawa. He married Shirley Kennon in 1955 and they made their home in Moscow. He was route manager for National Tobacco and Amusement Company in Memphis, retiring in 2000. He married Kay Shelton in 1995 and they made their home in the Old Friendship Community after his retirement in 2000. He was a member of Old Friendship Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife Kay Moore; two sons Richard Marvin (Rick) Moore of Winchester, TN and Ralph Hughes Moore (Donna) of Moscow, TN; a brother Richard Clark Moore of Red Banks, MS; four grandchildren Ryan Matthew Moore, Nicole Moore Crum (Jon); Philip Richard Moore, Lucas Keith Moore; and five great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Shirley, a brother James Moore and two sisters Juanita Moore Saterfiel, Wilma Moore Collins and a daughter-in-law Emily Schramm Moore.
Funeral services will be 2 pm Saturday December 28th at Shackelford Crook Avenue Chapel with Iran Smith officiating. Burial will follow at Old Friendship Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Crook Avenue Chapel beginning at 12 pm Saturday.
