Dalton C. Gooch, III, age 71, formerly of Jackson, died Thursday Feb. 19, 2009 in Douglasville, Georgia. He was born in Memphis on October 5, 1937, the eldest son of the late D. C. and Mary Emma Gooch, both natives of McNairy County. His brother, James H. Gooch of Jackson, Tennessee preceded him in death.Mr. Gooch was a gifted artist and also enjoyed the art of others being particularly fond of the works of Vincent Van Gogh. He attended Lambuth College in Jackson majoring in drafting and was an avid fan of Franklin Lloyd Wright. Though Dalt will be sadly missed by his family and friends, it is a blessing and comfort to know he will live on through his exquisite works of art.Survivors include his sister, Carolyn Hedges and husband Leonard of Cartersville, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Kay Gooch of Jackson, Tennessee; nieces and nephews, Mark and wife Rhonda Gooch and Gaylon and wife Tonya Gooch, both of Jackson, Tennessee, Larry Farmer of Kennesaw, Georgia, Kay Olson of Alva, Florida, David Farmer of Reagan, Tennessee, Mary Farmer and Cheryl Thomas, both of White, Georgia, and many great nieces and nephews.
