DALE RHODES

Henderson, TN: Linda Dale Whitwell Rhodes, age 76, passed away July 8, 2023 at her home.

She was born June 1, 1947, at Humboldt, and grew up in Whiteville and Henderson, the daughter of the late J.B. and Nora Arlene Lewis Whitwell. She graduated from Chester County High School in 1964 and married Dwight in 1965.

She worked in the Chester County School System as a substitute teacher, worked in special education testing, and then in the high school office.

She played piano and sang at Cave Springs Baptist Church, where she was a devout member.

She enjoyed flower gardening and taking care of her grandchildren. She home schooled some of the grandchildren.       

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by her husband, Dwight Henry Rhodes of Henderson; a son, Anthony Rhodes (Kim) of Montezuma and two daughters, Linda Geary (Danny) of Henderson and Annette Rhodes of Henderson; six grandchildren, Eryn Tolley (Brandon), Lauren Geary, Nathan Geary, Andrew Geary, Miriam Rhodes and Tirzah Rhodes and two great grandchildren, Ben Tolley and Carter Tolley and a sister, Brenda Jeffers (Al) of Remmington, IN.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Virginia Bullman.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Tuesday, July 11^th, at Cave Springs Baptist Church with Danny Geary and Ronnie Geary officiating. Burial will follow at Cave Springs Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel 5 PM until 8 PM on Monday and 9 AM until 11 AM service time at the Church.
