D. C. (DAN) BENSON
Was born in Chester County, Tennessee on December 1, 1935 the son of the late Evan V. and Minnie Lee Spencer Benson.
On January 20, 1956 he was united in marriage to the former Sue Tanner, who survives.
Mr. Benson was owner and operator of Dan’s Air and Refrigeration Repair and was former owner of Cherry’s Truck Stop.
He departed this life on April 30, 2006 at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital in Jackson, Tennessee at the age of 70 years, 4 months and 29 days.
Other than his wife Sue of Savannah, Tennessee, he is survived by one son, Danny C. Benson and his wife Terry of Savannah, Tennessee.
One grandson, Derick Clay Benson
6 sisters, Olidean Kennedy of Henderson, Tennessee, Mary Nell Cherry of Adamsville, Tennessee, Mayrene Essary of Enville, Tennessee, Marie Benson of Reagan, Tennessee, Zula Bailey of Henderson, Tennessee and Mildred Bivens of Sardis, Tennessee.
5 brothers, Cecil Smith of Reagan, Tennessee, J. W. Benson of Memphis, Tennessee, Johnny Benson of Reagan, Tennessee, Jerry Benson of Reagan, Tennessee and David Benson of Decatur, Alabama.
And a special niece, Cathy Tanner Crotts of Savannah, Tennessee.
Mr. Benson was also preceded in death by one grandson, Danny Shane Benson and 4 brothers, Raymond Smith, Frank Benson, Warren Benson and Tommy Evan Benson.
