Humboldt, TN: Cynthia Ann Edgar Vogt age 73, passed away January 4, 2022 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.
She was born July 5, 1948 in Enville, TN, the daughter of Garmelia Elaine Martin Edgar and the late James Harold (Billie) Edgar. She grew up in Chester County but moved to Blytheville, AR and graduated from Gosnell High School. She married Joe Vogt on June 22, 1966.
She was a member of the Crossroads Assembly of God at Three Way.
She earned her B.S. Degree in Education at Union University, then a Masters in Curriculum and Instruction from Freed Hardeman University.
She taught Math at Chester County Jr. High School for thirty years, retiring in 2012. She continued to tutor for a couple of years after retirement.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her grandchildren.
She taught Children’s Church and classes at First Assembly Church of God in Henderson for many years.
Mrs. Vogt is survived by her husband, Joseph (Joe) Edward Vogt of Humboldt; a son, Marc Vogt and wife Nancy of Wellington, CO; her mother, Garmelia Martin Edgar of Jackson; two grandchildren, Ashley Nichole Vogt and Brandon Hale Vogt.
She was preceded in death by her father, a son Timothy Edward Vogt (1990) and a brother, Bruce Edgar.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 8th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Crook Avenue with Pastor Joel Pledge officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Springs Cemetery at Enville, TN.
The family will receive friends at Crook Avenue 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Friday, January 7th.
