CURTIS GROVES SMITH
was born in Tishomingo County, Mississippi on June 8, 1923 the son of the late Dorsey David and Alexandria Gertrude Skelton Smith.
Mr. Smith was united in marriage to the former Florence Ophelia Parker and to the former Bonnie Blasingame, who both preceded their husband in death.
Mr. Smith worked for TVA. He was a member of Labor International Union of North America where he was a 50 year gold card member. He loved to fox and rabbit hunt and loved to fish. Mr. Smith was a United States Army Veteran of World War II.
He departed this life on July 28, 2008 at the Hardin Medical Center in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 85 years, 1 month and 20 days.
Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter, Carolyn Parson of Iuka, Mississippi and one son, Donald Smith of Counce, Tennessee
4 grandchildren, Jermey Smith, Chris Smith, Ron Smith and Brandy Webb
5 great-grandchildren, Ivy, Maddox, Jed, Daygon and Felica
2 sisters, Earle Waddell of Counce, Tennessee and Eslene Hindman of Memphis, Tennessee
Other than Florence Ophelia Parker Smith, the mother of his children and Bonnie Blasingame Smith, he was also preceded in death by 3 sons, Dorsey (Doss) Smith, Tony Smith and David Smith, one daughter, Alexandria Smith, one grandchild, Kevin Webb, one sister, Remell Laird and 3 brothers, Grady, Ovie and Raymond (Bart) Smith.
