Curtis E. Noel



was born in Hudson, Illinois on April 26, 1921 the son of the late Mathew V. and Marie Violet Vandegraft Noel.



Mr. Noel was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served in World War II in the European, African and Middle Eastern theatre. He received the American Defence Service Medal, three Overseas Service Bars, five Battle Stars and a silver service star. He was in battle campaigns in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland, Arebones and Central Europe.



On May 4, 1943 he was united in marriage to the former Dortha Mae Dotson , who preceded him in death in 1989. On May 14, 1994, he married Mary Moser Partain Noel. Mr. Noel worked with Maycor Corp in Bloomington, Illinois. He was a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Church, the American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars.



He departed this life on July 26, 2007 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 86 years and 3 months.



Mr. Noel is survived by his wife, Mary Partain Noel of Adamsville, TN;

his children: Curtis Wade Noel of Hernando, Florida, Charles V. Partain of Stantonville, Tennessee, Jerry Partain of Hernando, Mississippi, Wanda West of Stantonville, Tennessee, Carol Barrier of Savannah, Tennessee, Kay Treece of Stantonville, Tennessee, Terry Johnson of Adamsville, Tennessee, Randy Partain of Crump, Tennessee and Larry Partain of Atlanta, Georgia;



18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren;



and two sisters: Maxine Noel Coy of LaRue, Ohio and Norma Bailey of San Antonio, Texas.



In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by a stepson, Johnny Partain and a step-grandchild, Trasondra Young.
