Cora Phillips

She was born and reared in Hardeman County, the Silerton Coummunity. The daughter of the late John William and Opha Mae Gee Wilson. She went to school at Silerton where she played on the basketball team and she also with to school at Bolivar Central High. She was married to Joe Lee Phillips in 1939. They lived in Chester County until 1959 when they moved to Toone. Mr. Phillips was in construction and Mrs. Phillips owned and operated a beauty shop in her home. She retired in the early 1990's. She was a member of the Toone Baptist Church.
