Cora Elizabeth Epley Curtis of Clifton, TN was born February 19, 1923 in Miston, Tennessee, the daughter of the late Charlie Vernon and Sally Ann Howell Epley. She was united in marriage to John Hardin Curtis on July 1, 1961and he preceded her in death on October 26, 2007.
Mrs. Curtis was a homemaker and a member of the Clifton Revival Center in Clifton, Tennessee.
Mrs. Curtis departed this life on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia, Tennessee at the age of 87 Years, 3 Months, 6 Days.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Nicholson of Dyersburg, TN; seven grandchildren; fifty-six great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Jane Smith of Clifton, TN; nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Curtis was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Robinson.
Services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Clifton Revival Center in Clifton, Tennessee, with Shayne Riley officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Cemetery at Clifton, Tennessee with Shackelford Funeral Directors of Wayne County directing. Visitation will be Thursday, May 27, 2010 from 6 pm to 9 pm at Shackelford Funeral Home, Waynesboro, TN. Her body will be placed in the church one hour before the services on Friday. Pallbearers will be Rick Scott, Eric Scott, Bobby Arnold, David Hensley, Sr., David Hensley, Jr., Cameron Blackburn.
