Cora Louise Strange Barrier
was born July 23, 1928 in Madison County, Alabama the daughter of the late Erskine and Mary Naomi Holcombe Strange.
On January 14, 1950 she was united in marriage to George Henry Barrier, he preceded her in death on July 12, 1995.
Mrs. Barrier enjoyed flowers, music, birds, and her grandchildren. She was a member of the White's Creek Freewill Baptist Church.
Mrs. Barrier departed this life on November 24, 2010 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 82 Years, 4 Months, 1 Day.
She is survived by three sons, Keith George Barrier, Danny Wade Barrier both of Savannah, TN, and Mark Jacob Barrier of Laceys Spring, AL; a daughter, Nita Naomi Parson of Corinth, MS; eleven grandchildren, Janice Baskins, Andre and Joseph Nguyen, James Wade Barrier, Megan Youd, Katie Barrier, Ricky Shaw, J.W. Barrier, Sarah Saint, Jessica Brown, Derek Barrier, and Julie Barrier; several great grandchildren; four brothers, David Strange of Florence, AL, James Strange, Oliver Strange both of South Bend, IN, Paul Strange of Tuscumbia, AL; three sisters, Carrien Hutton of Waterloo, AL , Rena Meintzer of Harrisburg, WV and Frances Young of Florence, AL.
In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Barrier was preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Hisey and a stepbrother, William Vandegrift.
