Jackson, TN: Connie Rose Sikes McKinney age 80, passed away January 25, 2022 at her home.

She was born November 9, 1941 in Madison County, the daughter of the late James Allen and Mary Christine Ballard Sikes. She married James Robert McKinney, Sr. on March 22, 1960. They made their home in Pinson. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading and doing crossword puzzles.
She was a member of the Pinson Church of God for over thirty years.

She loved spending time helping to raise and enjoy her grandchildren.

Mrs. McKinney is survived by two sons, James McKinney (Carolyn) of Jackson and Thomas McKinney (Marcia) of Crump; two daughters, Susan C. Howard of Finger and Melonie Black (Neil) of Henderson; grandchildren, Curtis McKinney, Holly Smith, Cody McKinney, Jessica Cruz, Johnathon Cotner, Alayna Finch, Matthew Puckett, Hailey Puckett, Jamie McKinney, James King, Andy Bricker, John Bricker and Sammie Black; eleven great grandchildren, a brother, Jackie Sikes (Shirley) of Henderson; sisters, Phyllis Hough of Tampa, FL and Jo Lynn Armstrong (James) of Lexington.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, James Robert McKinney, Sr. on December 31, 2008, five brothers, Walter Sikes, Steve Sikes, Tim Sikes, Roy Sikes and Allyn Sikes and a sister, Nancy Jackson.

Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 29th at Shackelford Funeral Directors – East Main Chapel with James McKinney, Jr and Daryl Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Big Springs Cemetery at Pinson.

The family will receive friends at East Main 5 PM until 8 PM on Friday and beginning at 11:00 AM on Saturday until service time.
