Coleman Dacus

Coleman 'Pecker' Dacus, 54, of Medon, died suddenly Friday, June 19, 2009 at work.The son of the late Louis Edward and Rose Ellen Spencer Dacus, he was a timber cutter for Wade Oliver Logging Co. Services will be 2 p. m., Tuesday, June 23, at Shackelford Funeral Directors Bolivar Chapel with Gene Stafford officiating. Burial will be at Walnut Grove Cemetery. Survivors include his daughter, Lisa Sanders of Toone; a son, Bobby Sanders of Toone; 2 sisters Mable Hopper of Bolivar, and Janie Dacus of Medon; a brother James Dacus of Bolivar; a half-sister, Irene Houseton of Memphis; and 2 grandsons Ashton and Deyton Sanders. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother William Dacus; and 4 half-brothers, Harry Dacus, Leroy Dacus, Herbert Dacus and John Spencer.
