She was born and reared in McNairy County, the Rocky Knob Community, the daughter of the late Monte Cue and Bertha Plunk Etheridge. She attended schools in McNairy County and graduated Bethel Springs High School in 1943 where she was valedictorian of her class. She attended West Tennessee Business College in Jackson. In 1943 she was married to James Kermit Davis of Finger. In 1944 she began work with Sears & Roebuck in Memphis. After Mr. Davis returned from WWII, they made their home in Finger. In 1953 they moved to Memphis where they made their home until 1977 when they moved to Henderson. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School Class for many years.
She is survived by her husband, James Kermit ‘Jim’ Davis; two sons, Jeffery Davis of Pinson and Jimmy Davis (Mary) of Bartlett; two daughters, Donna Prunkl (Pete) of Salisbury, NC and Cindy Anderson (David) of Memphis; a daughter-in-law, Martha Davis; ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren; and a sister, Sheila Hopper of Finger.
She was preceded in death by a son Keith Davis in 2002, two brothers, M.E. Etheridge and J.D. Etheridge and a sister Kathleen Pritchett.
