Clovis V. Dixon

Services for Clovis V. Dixon, age 73, will be Sunday, December 26, 2010 at 1:30 PM at Shackelford Funeral Directors Chapel in Waynesborowith Jerry Robbins officiating. Burial will be in Shields Cemetery, Waynesboro, TN with Shackelford Funeral Directors in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will be Saturday, December 25, 2010 from 6:00-9:00 and Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.A native of Wayne County, he was born May 15, 1937, a son of the late Raymond and Mary Gambrell Dixon. In addition to his parents, Mr. Dixon was preceded in death by the mother of his children, Helen Dixon, brothers, Louis, Buick, James Loyd, and Bill Dixon. He was an automobile mechanic. Mr. Dixon died Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Maury Regional Hospital in Columbia.He is survived by sons, Tommy Dixon of Waynesboro, TN and Bradley Byrd of Pensacola Beach, FL; daughters, Margaret (Crickett) Brown and Barbara (Susie) McClain both of Waynesboro; Brenda Vaughn of Lawrenceburg, TN, and Teresa Purcell of Leoma, TN; 7 grandchildren, 2 step-granchildren,1 great-grandchild,1 step-great-grandchild; a brother, Cecil Dixon of Waynesboro, TN; sisters, Clara Wilson of St. Joseph, TN and Elizabeth McIntyre of Lawrenceburg, TN; several nieces and nephews.
